Mayor of Thirsk presents Certificate of Appreciation Award to Volunteers at World of James Herriot
Mayor of Thirsk, Hazel Dalgleish-Brown and Thirsk Town Council has presented volunteers at the World of James Herriot in Thirsk with a special Certificate of Appreciation award.
The award recognises the valuable contribution that the volunteers have made at the award-winning attraction and states “For Dedication to Giving Selflessly of Time and Talent for Their Local Community. Thank You for Making Our Community a Better Place”
“This is a lovely recognition for our volunteers who come to the World of James Herriot to help us in many different ways. Visitors often remark about the warm welcome they enjoy from the volunteers who explain the attraction’s many facets”. Comments The World of James Herriot’s centre manager, Kate Pawlett.
The attraction is open every day except Christmas Day and New Year’s Day and attracts many coach groups, families and a large following of James Herriot fans. It is enjoying much new attention due to the Channel 5 Yorkshire Vet TV series about the present day version of the very same veterinary practice that James Herriot made famous with his books, films and BBC TV series about his life as a country vet in what is now known worldwide as ‘Herriot Country’.
“Volunteers are a vital part of our team at the World of James Herriot and we are all delighted for this recognition from Mayor Hazel Dalgleish-Brown and Thirsk Town Council”. …..added managing director, Ian Ashton.
