The World of James Herriot in Thirsk is one of seven finalists for the Coach Friendly Visitor Attraction Award in the British Coach Tourism Awards 2017.
Representatives of the attraction will be in attendance at the awards dinner on Wednesday 22nd March 2017 at the National Motorcycle Museum Birmingham. Other finalists in the category include Blenheim Palace, Bodleian Libraries, Chester Zoo, Ripley’s London, West Midland Safari Park and Woburn Abbey and Gardens.
“This is another boost for the World of James Herriot and the Herriot Country Tourism Group as we continue to develop our relationships with both domestic and inbound group visitors. Whilst this is not yet the final result, to be shortlisted alongside the other prestigious attractions is a great honour”. comments The World of James Herriot’s managing director and chairman of the Herriot Country Tourism Group, Ian Ashton.
The attraction is actively seeking coach business and is working in partnership with other Herriot Country Tourism members including the Wensleydale Railway – The Herriot Country Line, and Classic Lodges Hotels. All three partners will be exhibiting at the British Tourism and Travel Show at the NEC Birmingham on Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd March 2017 with their ‘Heritage, Herriot and Hotels’ package on stand number H35 as part of ‘Attractions with Great Potential’.
