A very special association has developed between the largest Veterinary medicine and equipment company in Germany, and ‘The World of James Herriot’, based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

Dr. Thomas Nonnewitz,  Director of WDT, Cooperative Company of German Veterinarians, exhibits at all the top Veterinary  Exhibitions in Germany, and is a great supporter of ‘The World of James Herriot’, and promotes the Centre by having memorabilia, literature and leaflets alongside their own products.

All the display materials are provided by Managing Director, Ian Ashton, of The World of James Herriot, and sent over to WDT for their exhibitions.

Alf Wight was a vet, and became known by his pen name, James Herriot, author and creator of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’, which became the famous TV series.

The Herriot centre was recognised by Visit England with an Award for Excellence as ‘The Best Small Visitor Attraction’ in the UK
