Ellie Harrison is in our visitor centre to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Alf Wight – the world’s most famous vet, better known to the world as James Herriot. She finds out what life was really like as a vet, from Alf’s son Jim, and discovers some of the things that inspired his writing. Ellie meets Alf’s daughter Rosie at the top of Sutton Bank – which Alf often commented was the “finest view in England”, and goes on a Farm visit with Christopher Timothy who played James Herriot is the series.
